This part of our program truly sets us apart. How many charter companies are willing to take you sailing all the across the Atlantic Ocean? Know of any that are ready to take you and your friends up the St. Lawrence to downtown Montreal this Fall? Thought so. Want to sail to Halifax? Let’s go there, together.
It’s September and the leaves are just starting to change. Instead of jumping right back into the grind at work you’re sailing up-river on the historic St. Lawrence Seaway with (up to) seven of your close friends
Embark in the heart of downtown Toronto, get settled into your cabin and get ready. You’re about to sail the big water of Eastern Lake Ontario before settling into the lazy rhythms of meandering up-river through the 1000 Islands. We will spend our nights tied off to small town piers that have welcomed travellers for more than a hundred years. Dinner under the stars, swims in fresh (and getting cold) river water, and some of the best sleeps you’ve ever had tucked into your cozy cabin. By the time we get to Montreal, you’re not going to want to get off the boat.

2nd Week of September
The night before we leave, enjoy a great dinner in the heart of downtown Montreal. Next morning we’re off bright an early heading North East into some of the most picturesque and remote sections of the mighty St. Lawrence River. Once we arrive in Quebec City, you’ll want to book a night or two in one of downtown’s boutique hotels so you can explore Canada’s most historic city.

3rd Week of September
The Easternmost end of the St. Lawrence Seaway is no joke. Big shipping traffic, big water, and bigger views will greet you as we wend our way through the almost empty wilderness of Eastern Quebec and out into the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean as we round the bend and pull into downtown Halifax. Once you’ve completed this leg, you can call yourself a Seafarer

Our Ocean Passages are not a vacation, they’re an adventure. Whether you’re sailing 1,000 miles downwind with us off the African Coast, or all the way across the Atlantic, when you’re on Ocean Passage with us you’re going to work, you’re going to be uncomfortable, and you’re going to be changed.
Are you ready for 1,700 miles of open ocean? Not just any Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean. Departing Halifax (or Newport RI) we will strike out into the vast emptiness of the Mid-Atlantic, headed for the Azores Archipelago, two-to-three weeks (depending on weather) to the East. We will follow the Trans-Atlantic circle route sailors have used for centuries. You will stand watch, help with working the yacht, spend a lot of time staring into space (the stars!), or reading, or listening to music, or chatting with your mates. You will be challenged, afraid, uncomfortable, sleep-deprived, amazed, at peace, and transformed. By the time we arrive on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean you will have had the experience of a lifetime, something to tell your kids (and grandkids) about someday.

OFFSHORE LEG 2
PORTUGAL - SPAIN
This sail can either be a downwind romp, or a bit of a bash depending on how the winds are cycling off the U.K. It’s beautiful though. Leaving the Azores behind, we’ll set our sights on the Canary Islands. You’ll enjoy all the same transformative challenges of a Trans-Atlantic passage, just in a smaller package. One week at sea, instead of three. But the night stars, the cozy sleeps, the challenging shifts on-watch and the camaraderie will be exactly the same. We’re pretty sure that, after spending a week with us at sea, you’ll be signing back up for a Trans-Atlantic the following year.

This week-long sail is a downwind romp, in fact, if conditions are right it’ll be a downwind rip and you’ll have an extra day to live at anchor in the epic Cape Verde Islands, a volcanic paradise that’s a time-capsule from 200 years ago. Keeping a good 600 miles offshore of the Westernmost Coast of Africa, we will ride the Atlantic swell and Northerly breeze through starlit nights and warming days as we travel South like the Ancient European Seafarers did.

This one is downright epic. 2,200 miles of open ocean, a (typically) following sea and the trade-winds make this a fast, exciting, totally immersive experience of a lifetime. You’ll be astonished on night watch to see the Milky Way like a live thing above you and, when the dolphins visit, it won’t just be one or two, but one or two hundred. You’re way off the grid now, beyond search and rescue range, all alone (just you and your mates) in the depths of the sea. By the time you arrive in cosmopolitan St. Martin twenty days later, you’ll feel a bit out of place, because the sea will have become your home.
